Our first dog adoption
It all started with Rico, our first adopted dog. His adoption was a challenging beginning.
Our American Staffordshire Terrier hadn't had an easy start. When he joined our family, he was lost, yet full of trust in people. A dog with a big heart: loyal, devoted, and affectionate in a way that touched us most from day one.
Working with Rico was neither quick nor simple. It required time, patience, and attentiveness, learning to read signals, respecting boundaries, and building a sense of security. Day by day, small steps forward. It also involved hours of conversations, consultations, seeking solutions, and listening to specialists. We checked what truly served Rico. No shortcuts. No pressure. At his pace.
Every, even the smallest step, brought us closer to the wonderful friend we have in Rico today.
Rico taught us mindfulness, responsibility, and the immense importance of conscious choices – even the seemingly simplest ones. It was from this relationship, from the need to give dogs what truly serves them, that Aport! was born. A brand created from experience.
